EDUCATIONAL SESSION PROPOSALS

Leading Through Change Starts With You

The 2026 TACUSPA Conference invites student success professionals, graduate students, faculty, and higher education leaders to submit proposals that inspire learning, encourage collaboration, and advance the field of student affairs and higher education.

Aligned with this year’s conference theme, Leading Through Change, we seek engaging presentations that explore innovation, leadership, adaptability, student success, and the evolving landscape of higher education. Whether you are presenting research, sharing promising practices, facilitating dialogue, or highlighting innovative initiatives, we encourage you to contribute your voice and expertise to the conference experience.

Presenters will have the opportunity to engage professionals from across the region while contributing to meaningful conversations that shape the future of student success work.

Session Types

TACUSPA 2026 is excited to expand presentation opportunities beyond traditional educational sessions by introducing Poster Presentations and Roundtables for the first time. These new formats are designed to create additional space for conversation, collaboration, research-sharing, and innovative engagement throughout the conference experience.

Whether you are presenting original research, facilitating dialogue around emerging issues, or sharing practical strategies from your campus, we encourage you to explore the session format that best aligns with your goals, content, and presentation style.

Which Session Type is Right for You?

Educational Session

Educational Sessions are ideal for presenters seeking a more traditional presentation format with opportunities for audience engagement and discussion.

  • Deliver a structured presentation or workshop

  • Share research, assessment findings, or promising practices

  • Facilitate skill-building or interactive learning experiences

  • Present a comprehensive overview of a program, initiative, or topic

  • 50 minute educational session

Roundtables

Roundtables are intentionally discussion-centered and work best for presenters looking to engage attendees through active participation and collaborative learning.

  • Facilitate dialogue around a focused topic or challenge
  • Encourage peer discussion and collaborative problem-solving
  • Create space for shared experiences and idea exchange
  • Explore emerging issues through conversation rather than formal presentation
  • 50 minute roundtable

Poster Presentation

Poster Presentations provide a more informal and visually engaging experience that encourages direct interaction between presenters and attendees.

  • Share research or assessment projects in a conversational setting
  • Highlight emerging ideas, pilot initiatives, or program outcomes
  • Engage attendees through one-on-one discussion and networking
  • Present graduate student work or ongoing projects
  • 50 minute poster presentation

No matter which format you choose, TACUSPA 2026 encourages proposals that foster connection, innovation, and meaningful conversations that support student success and leadership in higher education.

Understanding Session-Specific Application Requirements

To help create engaging and intentional learning experiences, TACUSPA 2026 includes a few session-specific questions within the proposal process. These questions are designed to help presenters think through how their content will be delivered, how attendees will engage, and what support may be needed for a successful presentation experience.

Requirements will vary depending on the session format selected.

Educational Sessions

Educational Session proposals include questions that help presenters design interactive and engaging presentations for attendees.

Presenters may be asked to provide:

  • Presentation style and format

  • Audience engagement or interactive components

  • Technology or audiovisual needs

These questions help ensure sessions are structured to support meaningful learning and participant engagement.

Poster Presentations

Poster Presentation proposals include questions focused on visual presentation needs and the overall poster experience.

Presenters may be asked to provide:

  • Research or project type

  • Poster dimension acknowledgment

  • Visual or display needs

These requirements help presenters prepare an accessible and effective poster presentation environment.

Roundtables

Roundtable proposals include questions designed to support discussion-based and collaborative learning experiences.

Presenters may be asked to provide:

  • Discussion topic overview

  • Participant engagement strategy

  • Key discussion questions

These prompts help ensure roundtable sessions create opportunities for active dialogue, shared problem-solving, and peer learning.

TACUSPA 2026 is committed to creating engaging, accessible, and collaborative conference experiences across all presentation formats. Session-specific requirements are intended to support presenters in designing meaningful learning opportunities for attendees.
