2026 TACUSPA Annual Conference


We are excited to introduce expanded pre-conference opportunities for the 2026 conference. Taking place on October 12 and 13, these sessions are designed to provide deeper learning experiences, extended workshops, and space for focused engagement before the main conference begins.

Whether you are looking to build specific competencies or connect with peers at a similar career stage, our pre-conference offerings create space for focused engagement and professional growth.

Pre-Conference Workshops

STAND Up Trauma-Informed Care: Train-the-Trainer

Learn how to implement trauma-informed practices within your campus community through this interactive train-the-trainer model. This workshop equips participants with the knowledge and tools to effectively educate others on trauma-informed care.

National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Training

This training introduces participants to national frameworks and strategies for identifying, evaluating, and reporting potential threats. Attendees will gain insight into prevention-focused approaches that support campus safety and well-being.

NABITA Risk Rubric Training: One-Day Certification

Facilitated by Scott Lewis, J.D., this certification training provides a comprehensive overview of the NABITA Risk Rubric. Participants will learn how to assess and respond to concerning behaviors using a structured, research-informed framework.

Pre-Conference Institutes

Our institutes are designed to bring together professionals at similar career stages for a more personalized and community-focused experience. Each institute creates space for connection, reflection, and professional growth.

Graduate Student Institute (GSI)

TACUSPA’s Graduate Student Institute is designed for current and aspiring graduate students in Higher Education or Student Affairs. This institute provides a welcoming space for participants to connect, learn, and grow professionally alongside peers navigating similar academic and career pathways.

New Professionals Institute (NPI)

The New Professionals Institute is created for individuals in their first four years in higher education and student affairs. This engaging experience brings together new professionals to explore shared challenges, build community, and develop strategies for navigating the early stages of their careers.

Mid-Managers Institute (MMI)

The Mid-Managers Institute offers a dynamic professional development experience for mid-level leaders navigating the complexities of supervision, decision-making, and organizational leadership. Participants will engage with peers in similar roles while strengthening their leadership approach.
