Biggest Buzz Webinar - Give back to impact: Rethinking the motivations for Latinx involvement
Ricardo Montelongo, Ph.D.

This workshop provides follow up to the presenter’s 2016 study on former members of a Latinx student organization twenty years after graduation.  In addition to themes describing lasting outcomes of college involvement, the original study revealed how several study participants became involved with their communities in very creative and distinctive ways. This workshop will summarize a follow up study to further investigate motivations driving Latinx college student involvement. Discussion will focus on rethinking specific involvement outcomes (ex. retention, satisfaction, graduation) of Latinx college organizations to those which aspire to “give back to impact” current and future communities.
