    Conduct investigations of alleged student misconduct and specifically Title IX complaints, which include but are not limited to allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence, stalking and sex discrimination.

    Essential Functions

    Investigate cases of alleged student misconduct - specifically Title IX related matters, which includes meeting with individual students and witnesses, gathering and assessing evidence, determining credibility, and writing investigative reports regarding the findings of the investigation. Interpret University policies and participate in the implementation of the University Title IX investigatory and disciplinary processes for students. Exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding student problems, parental concerns, faculty concerns, and staff problems regarding the Title IX process. Help train University community on Title IX and investigation processes. Work with database, mainframe, and other computer applications. Assist with various special assignments within Title IX Training and Investigations, the Dean of Students Office and the Division of Student Affairs.

    Position Summary 
    Under general supervision, provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day operations within Student Services, participating in planning, development, evaluation and improvement. Assists with ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Responsible for coordination of support functions such as scheduling, communications, workflows, supplies, information processing, and staff support. May be responsible for coordinating budget planning process and for tracking and coordinating budget expenditures. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices.

    This position works in collaboration with the Director/Program Manager, Student Activities/Student Services for Lone Star College, which includes student activities, student organizations, community service, sports club programs, and student lounge.

    Job Functions

    • Oversees daily and some long-term operations of assigned area. Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as Subject Matter Expert and general point of contact within the area of specialty.
    • Creates and submits a variety of reports related to assigned department. Performs research and analysis to assists with preparation and presentation of findings. May make presentations at various levels both internally and externally.
    • Some positions may assist with maintaining compliance of processes and documentation.
    • Coordinates the day to day operations of the student lounge.
    • Assists with evaluation of programs and makes recommendations for revisions to processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous departmental/process improvement. Assists with development of new programs.
    • Coordinates and manages various department and management calendars and schedules. Assists with planning, schedules and coordinates various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support.
    • Monitors and controls resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the department. Submits requisitions and follows up with reconciliation documentation.
    • Maintains and monitors budget expenditures of student organizations and recreational sports.
    • Collaborates with internal and external groups to coordinate all aspects of various student organizational activities and recreational events.
    • Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed.
    • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Position Summary: To coordinate all aspects of the Student Judicial Affairs Program and related programs/projects as assigned within Student Life.. Responsible for exercising initiative and judgment in advising, counseling and working with students, faculty and staff in student disciplinary matters and other assigned responsibilities. Acts as an investigator for assigned Title IX cases in either a primary or secondary role.

    Description of Duties:

    • Coordinates and conducts prompt, fair, effective and equitable investigations and processing of all assigned allegations as they are related to violations of the Student Code of Conduct or Title IX/Discrimination.
    • Develops comprehensive investigative reports for review by the appropriate University administrators with involved parties for use in determining whether or not a violation has occurred.
    • Receives and processes allegations of Student Code of Conduct or Title IX from students, faculty and staff.
    • Develops and recommends appropriate sanctions for those found responsible for violating the Student Code of Conduct that ensures educational outcomes and compliance with sanctions by the responsible party.
    • Assists departments, faculty, staff and students in responding to possible violations of University rules, regulations and policies via the Student Judicial system.
    • Represents the University at student disciplinary hearings to include pre-hearing conferences with students, faculty, staff and others as appropriate.
    • Remain current with knowledge of laws and compliance regulations related to Title IX, VAWA, FERPA, due process rights and other federal, state and local laws.
    • Assists with the delivery of outreach activities related to Title IX, Alcohol Awareness, and general campus safety.
    • Assists with the recruitment, training and evaluation and advisement of University Hearing officers.
    • Assists in the development of policies and procedures and implementation of student leadership programs, including assisting with the Graduate student internship program.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

    Preferred Education:

    Master’s degree in a related field

    Required Experience:

    Three (3) years of experience in a higher education environment in student conduct, conflict resolution, student affairs, student activities, law enforcement, or student housing.

    Preferred Experience:

    Five (5) years of experience as a judicial hearing officer in a university/college setting or related university/college experience.
